our Aims

The aims of the ICGVRA shall be:

  • to establish a representative body for all Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) past and present volunteers.
  • to promote respect, dignity, loyalty, and professionalism within all IRCG units.
  • to provide a supportive and non-judgmental forum for all IRCG volunteers, both past and present.
  • to promote the health and wellbeing of volunteers in IRCG Units.
  • to promote openness and transparency in IRCG Units, in the interaction between IRCG Units, their volunteers and IRCG Management.
  • to assist with conflict resolution and to support volunteers in difficult situations.
  • to work with IRCG Management to ensure that best practice prevails for volunteers in the working environment of IRCG Units.
  • to work with IRCG Management to provide a high-quality emergency service which always provides the best response for those who are in need of assistance.
